Among the many BlackBerry handsets that are available on the market these days, the BlackBerry Bold is in a league of its own and those who love using a BlackBerry cannot help but want to get their hands on the all new BlackBerry Bold. The BlackBerry Bold has many sub models which are well-known among the BlackBerry user's community and these are the Bold 9900 and the Bold 9930 which are the two best-selling models in this category because they have the touch screen facility. RIM launched the Bold 9900 and 9930 models in August 2011 and since then these two handsets have sold so much better than all the other BlackBerry models.

The Bold 9900 vs. The 9930

Comparing both these models isn't easy because they both interestingly carry the same features, but if this is the case, then why does RIM have two different models with same features? Well, we will discuss it later on, but before we do, let us have a look at some of the basic common features of both models.

Here is a list of common features of the Bold 9900 and the 9930.

This is a limited list of some of the features of both the models which are pretty common in all the Bold series handsets. As well as the above features, the hardware and software specs are exactly the same in both the models except for one difference.

Now let's have a look at the real difference between both the models. These models operate on different bands. The Bold 9900 operates on a simple GSM network as most of their handsets usually do; however, the Bold 9900 from T-Mobile operates on T-Mobile's 4G network giving it an edge over Sprint and Verizon's 9930 that operate on the 3G Network. Verizon's network in particular has more consistent coverage; hence, there is a trade-off of having a less consistent and faster 4G T-Mobile network or the more consistent Verizon 3G network. When comparing the models, I opened web pages at the same time in the New York region on the 9900 from T-Mobile on 4G and the 9930 from Verizon on 3G, and I found the speed to be very similar. The 9900 was marginally faster, however, but not by enough to offset the sometimes inconsistent T-Mobile coverage in New York. As a result, I would recommend the 9930 from Verizon and as a second option the 9900 from T-Mobile. Sprint's 9930 is a reliable option though does not have an impressive browsing speed. In last place is AT&T's 9900, due to AT&T's spotty network coverage which is prone to dropping calls, plus it comes at the highest price.

The Bold 9930 operates on both GSM and CDMA networks so you can switch the networks from CDMA to GSM and vice versa. It also supports the CDMA 800/1900 networks and the GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 networks.

It can therefore be said that the Bold 9930 is the better among the two as it supports both GSM and CDMA while the Bold 9900 only supports the GSM network. However, CDMA is not very commonly used while the GSM network is extensively used around the globe. So if you are in a mood to buy the Bold 9900 or the Bold 9930, do keep their features and network options in mind.

RDS (Radio Directional Service also offers roadway informational services on a sideband of the main frequency, a nice feature).

The Nokia also offers full Bluetooth compatibility so that not only can you use a Bluetooth device with the cellphone, but you can also use its Bluetooth capability to stream music through the device. It is a nice extra.

The Nokia's video capability is a bit more limited than other cellphones on the market as it offers only 2.1 MP camera capture capability, however the camera offers up to 4X zoom as well as a full-screen viewfinder and multiple effects.

In addition, the Nokia C3-00 is compatible with the following standards, MP3, WMA, AAC and eAAC, as well as such audio formats as H.263 and H.264, AVI, MPEG-4 and WMV. Incidentally, MPEG-4 files may be stored as.mpg or.3gp files.

The Nokia also offers instant messaging capability through one of the following Yahoo's Instant Messenger or Microsoft's IM feature or you can use Gtalk or Ovi.

Because it is one of the first smarter phones on the market, many of its features come preloaded such as games and organizational tools such as a calendar and the like. Further, it offers a proprietary Nokia browser while giving you full POP and IMAP mail capabilities.

The Nokia C30-00 isn't the latest and greatest smarter cellphone on the market, but that is its point, it isn't being sold as a smartphone and makes no pretense about it. It just works and what it does, it handles quite well.

Whatever you are viewing on the screen it is sure to look sharp as the manufacturers have a packed a high quality resolution of 320 x 480 into the relatively small display. On its own this figure may not sound to spectacular, but given the screens compact measurement it results in exceptional quality.

An important thing to remember about the Sony Ericsson W8 is that it is not a handset designed to compete with the high powered smartphones available, it is aimed at people not needing smartphone specification but who require good storage and excellent audio features. Having said this however what does impress is how the manufacturers have enabled this handset to operate using the Android OS. Admittedly the version incorporated here is only the outdated 2.1 edition however it does offer some great functionality that you would not normally expect to find on a feature phone. An excellent example of this is the Timescape UI which is found on some of the makers very top end handsets. This offers some great synchronisation with social networking sites in order to bring you a single timeline informing you of everything that is relevant, from SMS texts to Facebook updates.

The P500 also offers built-in GPS functionality that integrates with GPS Navigator and A-GPS so you can use it as a navigation and routing device through its close integration with Google Earth and Google maps. You can also customize this display to map view, traffic view or satellite view.

The P500 Optimus features a 3.15 MP autofocus camera that offers instant photography that offers geotagging so you can identify the site where an image was taken. It also operates as a video recorder, enabling you to take HD-style videography and upload it to the Internet. You can also use the video as the basis of a search since it is often easier to seek a site through videography than it is trying to find it through word filtering. Indeed, with Google's wide library of earth and specific site images it is likely that the video search will be quicker than a word search as it will zero in on exactly the spot one is seeking.

The Samsung Jet promises speed and high resolution graphics, with all the features you would expect from a top end Smartphone, and should be on your list of handsets to look at when considering a new mobile.
